Department Fest, 2009

The Department of Political Science is pleased to inform all that the Annual Departmental Fest "SPARTACUS" is scheduled to be held on December 10-11, 2009.

The main attractions of the Fest include: Seminar by renowned guests, Paper Presentation, Political Science Quiz, Debate, Collage Making competition etc. We are also Thankful to our Sponsers, i.e.:
New India Assurance Co. Ltd., Lord Krishna IAS Academy, thebgsworld.com and Flames Resturant.
The Department look forward to have a wide participation from different colleges and societies.
The commencement of the Festival would be done by our esteemed guest of honour, Prof. Achin Vinayak (HoD, Department of Political Science, Delhi University) and Prof. Neera Chandhoke (Director, DCRC and Professor, University of Delhi).
The Fest ends on 11th December with Screening of teh Award winning film "PARZANIA"

The department looks forward to have a successful and exuberated festival.

The Festival witnessed large praticipation from various colleges and created an atmosphere of festivity and excitement for the students throughout.

Visit to Lok Sabha

The Department of Political Science, Ramjas College Organised a visit to the Lok Sabha on December 1, 2009. The visit aimed at making a live observation of the proceedings of the session of the Parliament. It was a great oppurtunity for the students to witness the working of the Indian legislature.

The 56 students accompanied by 3 teachers had an oppurtunity to observe the session proceedings for an hour where the discussion was on University Grants Commission Amendment Bill.

It was a life time experience for the students to witness the apex law making machinery at its work. The whole Visit was an overall success with the students returning with exuberance.

Visit to Rajghat..

The Department of Political Science organised a Visit to RAJGHAT on November 20, 2009. With a group of 76 students accompanied by 3 teachers, the visit was a successful event.
The visit aimed at creating an overall understanding of Gandhi as a political thinker and a propounder of truth and non-violence.

The Visit also included the Gandhi Smriti Darshan and Gandhi museum, demonstrating the various aspects of the life of Gandhi.
However, the guiding light was shown by Dr. Govindi Joshi, who taught and discussed with all students and teachers, the significance of Gandhian thought and philosophy.

The visit to the Gandhi Museum showed, to the students, the role and influence of Gandhi in the Indian National Movement with a close proximity.

The visit was followed by a visit to India Gate.
It proved to a great time with all the teachers and students sitting together, discussing their experience and having a light conversation.
The Visit aimed at creating a better understanding of Gandhian principles and ideas.
